By June 2024, the implementation of the new HOTMA rules will be well underway. Virtually all HUD programs are impacted by the rule, as is the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program and the Rural Development Section 515 Program. This three-hour training will explain how HOTMA is being implemented for all affected programs. Up-to-date guidance in the following areas will be presented: 1) Any updated HUD guidance relating to earned and unearned income, non-recurring income, and foster children; (2) Revised Income Exclusions; (3) The most recent HUD guidance relative to Student Financial Assistance; (4) Any new trends relating to the “hardship exemptions;” (5) How the new rules regarding assets are being implemented for the LIHTC and RD programs; (6) Best Practice policies regarding Interim Recertification requirements; (6); and (7) Up-to-date HUD guidance regarding dealing with “non-necessary personal property.”

This session is a must for all managers of HUD, Rural Development, and LIHTC properties, and will provide plenty of opportunity for Q & A.
