LIHTC Acquisition/Rehab Issues

One of the most complex areas of the LIHTC program is the acquisition/rehab of existing properties. This training will assist managers, compliance staff, developers, and investors in their understanding of the various issues relating to these complex transactions. Placed in service issues will be explained, including the difference between the definition of placed in service for acquisition and rehab. There will be a detailed discussion of the requirements for tenant qualification on these projects, including an overview of the 120-day rule, safe-harbor rule, transferring residents, and Form 8609 elections.
